What His Insurance Background Means for You

Before representing injured people, Trevor represented insurance companies. He worked in insurance defense litigation at Riley Bennett & Egloff, where his practice also included personal injury and wrongful death. That experience gave him insight into how insurers evaluate and defend claims. Today, he brings that knowledge to representing people whose lives have been disrupted by an injury.

A Calm, Assured Advocate

When a claim is disputed, you need someone who can focus on the issues and present your case clearly. Trevor’s courtroom approach is calm and assured. His practice focuses on people injured in motor vehicle, semi-truck, construction site and premises liability accidents, as well as people hurt at work.

Trevor left the defense bar in June 2000 to form a personal injury firm in Carmel. He later joined Mr. Kooi in 2012 to form Crossen Kooi. In 2019, he established Crossen Law Firm to dedicate his practice to personal injury and workers’ compensation claims across Indiana and nationwide. Helping injured people is the focus of the firm he chose to build.

Education and Legal Credentials

Trevor has been licensed in Indiana since 1995. He earned his J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law at Indianapolis that year and his B.A. from Princeton University in 1991. He played varsity football at Princeton and helped the team win the Ivy League Championship in 1989.

His legal training included the 1994 American Bar Association National Moot Court Competition and the National Health Law Moot Court Competition. He is a member of Phi Delta Phi Fraternity and has been a member of the Order of Barristers since 1993.

Professional Memberships and Admissions

Trevor is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association (Litigation Section), the Indiana State Bar Association (Council Member at Large), the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, and the American Bar Association. He is also a Barrister Member of the American Sagamore Inn of Court. He is admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana, the United States District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Indiana, and the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals. Trevor is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

Trevor was selected to Super Lawyers® in 2010-2013 and 2015-2026, and to Rising Stars in 2009. He is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum® and has been selected to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 trial attorneys in Indiana.

Outside the Office

Born in San Antonio and raised in Dallas, Trevor now lives in Carmel with his wife, Kathryn. Away from work, he enjoys fishing, golf and watching sports, especially football and hockey.
